Ministry
Mission Statement
The
staff and teachers of Childrens Ministry are committed
to reach, teach and care for each child by faithfully sharing
the Word of God and the love of Jesus Christ each week.
Our goal is to lay a spiritual foundation that, in Gods
timing, will lead each child to a personal relationship
with the Lord. That relationship is encouraged to grow by
discipling and equipping them to be more caring and loving
as followers of Christ and to minister to others in their
home, neighborhood, church and school.
Child
Protection
Cornerstone
has instituted a Child Protection Program to keep our children
safe. Everyone who works with our children and youth must
go through the program. The program entails: filling out
an application form, an interview with an elder and staff
member, and a background check.
Sundays
9AM
Junior
Church
Elementary
school aged children go directly to Junior Church where
they will have a time of worship, a mission and bible story,
crafts, and games. All our activities will seek to
enforce the Bible and missionary stories. The goal of Junior
Church is to worship the Lord and to broaden the childrens
concept of Christ and the Church in the past and present
and throughout the world.
Pre-School
Care
Our
Nursery provides care for infants to age 2 with rotating
helpers during both the Worship Hours.Children
ages 2-4 are in classes during the Worship Service where
volunteers provide a Bible lesson and various activities
along with supervising "free play". The teachers
in these classes are on a rotating basis of every 5 weeks.
Sundays
10:45AM except during Summer months
Sunday
School
Our
children's Sunday School program begins at age 2 and goes
through 6th grade. Children are divided by age groups and
have 2 to 3 teachers per classroom. Teachers are encouraged
to mentor each child individually both in and out of the
classroom, recognizing that every child is important in
God's eyes. Our primary focus is the Bible and its application
in everyday life. Bible memory is encouraged. Teachers are
encouraged to find innovative teaching methods through seminars,
interaction with each other and specific classes arranged
by the church.
Our Sunday School year begins in September and goes through
May.
