ADVENTURE, INTIMACY, AND A PURPOSE
BIG ENOUGH FOR ETERNITY

{Pic}   Our missionTo multiply a worshiping community, on mission for Christ, into every neighborhood.

Vision Elements—

1. A church where God is at the center of all we do.
We believe our chief end is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever. We are given the privilege of participating with Him as He is at work everywhere, all the time, in all of life. We glorify Him as we participate according to His Word. With this perspective, all we do becomes an act of worship. If we begin with this end in mind, we have a purpose big enough for eternity.

2. A church where the Gospel is preached to bring non-believers to Christ, but also to show believers how to become more like Christ.
We desire a church shaped in all aspects by the implications of the Gospel--the good news that through Christ the power of God's kingdom has entered history to renew the whole world. We too often limit the power of the Gospel to our initial salvation. The truth is the Gospel provides the grace and power for us to live the Christian life every day. The same Gospel that gives us the promise of eternal life provides the daily deliverance from the sin we continue to find in our lives. Thus, the single Gospel message is for both the lost and the redeemed. As we proclaim that one message, Christ, our worship can be both real and evangelistic at the same time.

3. A church where relationships rule, life is shared, and people take care of one another in the name of Christ.
We dream of a church where people value other people's lives, and at the same time, share from their own. We want a community where loving relationships run deep with an inviting love that welcomes all people alike, no matter who they are or what their level of faith.

4. A church that loves being part of the city and is comfortable with its diversity. We intend to be a church that delights in the city’s energies and potential but also shares in its suffering; that is culturally relevant and communicates well to South City’s people with intentionally relevant design, music, language and arts

5. A church that serves the poor, weak and rejected members of society with real deeds of mercy and justice.
We believe God calls his church to invest time, money and other resources in opportunities to provide His mercy and justice to those in need in South City and beyond. We hope to join others where this kind of kingdom work is taking place.

6. A church where hearts and lives are changed by the power of the risen Christ.
We want to be a church where the power of the Holy Spirit
• helps people overcome troubling weaknesses and destroying habits;
• sets people free from addictions and self-centered desires,
• enables men and women to discover and use their gifts, being transformed into the image of God.
We aim to be a church of vibrant marriages; of families with children who want to follow their parents in following Jesus; and of singles who are valued and included in every aspect of community life
